Maintenance

Aircraft Innovation & Repair Services, Inc. specializes in maintenance and modification of the Lake Amphibian Aircraft, but offers full service maintenance facilities for ALL small (<12,500 lbs.) General Aviation Aircraft. Our facilities in Winter Haven, Florida consist of over 7,500 square feet of hanger space, allowing us to work on as many as 10 aircraft simultaneously. We maintain a complete selection of commonly used parts and hardware, and stock the best selection anywhere of Lake specific parts outside of the factory.

No other shop anywhere has the knowledge and expertise that we do about the Lake Aircraft. This is because our President, Paul Furnee, was at one time, not only the engineer responsible for flight testing and certification of every model since the LA-4-200, but actually conceptualized and developed many of the improvements himself. He was also responsible for operating Lake Aircraft, Inc. as General Manager for several years in the 1980's and also spent time as General Manager of Aerofab Inc., who manufactured the aircraft. There just isn't much we don't know about the Lake Aircraft or the company that built it.

So when you bring your (Lake) aircraft to Aircraft Innovation for maintenance, you can have confidence that we know how to repair or improve it in the most efficient and economical manner. Problems that stymie most FBO's and other repair facilities are "old hat" to us, and as such, we can save you thousands in repair costs. Our maintenance philosophy is to resolve the underlying problem, rather than simply install another part that will certainly fail again. We look at the design of a system from an engineering point of view, and fully understand the theory behind it before we start throwing (your) money at it.
